Living in Sooke

How do you describe living in Sooke?

Sooke is that rare mix of Natural Beauty and Accessibility. Located just 30mins scenic drive from Victoria, Sooke is truly a wonderous village to live in.

The village name comes from the local T'sou-ke native people who were the first inhabitants of the area. The name of the band comes from a species of stickleback fish that was, at one time, prevalent in the Sooke Basin.

With our abundance of trails to hike and bike, in particular the spectacular West Coast & Juan de Fuca Trails as well as the Galloping Goose, you will never be lost for a place to enjoy our fresh air and amazing views.

If you enjoy the art scene then Sooke has that in spades. We have a thriving artistic community, which each year hosts the largest adjudicated Fine Arts Show in BC...... the famous Sooke Fine Arts Show!

For the food lovers out there we have the world renowned Sooke Harbour House Restaurant as well as other fine eateries offering food from all over the world and catering for all tastes, many using local grown produce.

When it comes right down to it, Sooke is a wonderful village to live in, whether you are raising a family here or choosing our beautiful village to enjoy your retirement.

WELCOME!
